Playing catch up again with the books I read back in May! Y’all bear with me as I try to get back into blogging after trying to get settled in the house. Whew! It’s been a busy summer! 🙂
I have been wanting to read an Alafair Burke book for the longest because I’ve heard such great things. I picked up her newest thriller, The Better Sister, in May and loved it! I was constantly guessing and didn’t see the ending coming at all. I really want to pick up The Wife now!
Fix Her Up has been on my highly anticipated list since I first saw it. I mean, not only is the cover gorgeous, but I’m a sucker for a rom com! This one was beyond cute and sweet and full of romance! I highly recommend. It is definitely R rated, which I didn’t realize so just know that going in! 🙂
So, May is the busiest month in teaching and this year was no exception. Between ending the year, deciding to change grade levels (goodbye 5th, hello 2nd!) and moving classrooms, my reading started to struggle. I fell back on my favorite, go to, genre-quick read romances. Now, it’s August 1st (remember I’m playing catch up) and I couldn’t tell you one thing about this book, but I remember loving it and not being able to put it down. Not memorable, but still really really good!
Okay, I ended the month reading The Kiss Thief, which was a romance centered around the Chicago mob. What??? I NEVER would have read something like that, but I really wanted a quick read romance and the cover of this one suckered me in. Y’all, it was surprisingly really good. Again, R rated which I didn’t know based on the cover, but I still remember details from this one. I don’t think it’s for everyone, but I really enjoyed it!
Okay, that’s my short list for May! 🙂
