I’m getting my master’s degree!

Classroom· lifestyle· Uncategorized

Happy Friday, friends! I am so so excited about today because it’s the first day of school for me!
Kind of.
Let me explain.
I have been putting off and putting off getting my master’s degree for the longest. I got my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education almost 10 years ago (what?!?) and I’ve just never started the next step in the education process. I have been busy, busy, busy and I could never wrap my brain around even thinking about adding something else to the mix. But then once I started looking into it, I realized that you can actually take most of (if not ALL) your Master classes online now. I’m so excited to partner with the University of West Alabama and share my online journey with y’all!
Now, I’m just dipping my toes in the water this summer and I’m only taking one class, but I’m so excited about it! It’s called Imaging/Graphic Design Technology Learning (the program I’m getting my Master’s degree in is Learning, Design, and Technology.) I LOVE learning about different ways to use technology to enhance student learning, so I’m hopefully that my first class will be full of useful info.
If you’re like I was and you’re unsure if you’ll be able to fit in “going back to school,” you should look into the online programs at UWA. I couldn’t believe how easy it is! Now if the actual class is as easy, I’ll be one happy girl! 🙂 🙂
I’ll be checking in all summer and updating y’all on my process. How many of y’all have your Master degree? What is it in? Did you go the traditional route or did you do it online? I’d love to know!

I actually was apart of two graduate programs last year, while teaching full time. I love the flexibility you get from an online program! Currently, I am Pershing my Masters in Educational Leadership through an online program. Through taking an online program I was able to finish my Master’s in Special Education this past Spring.

Congratulations! I started this summer too and will finish my first class next week. I’m getting my degree in Administration. I cannot get over how much I have enjoyed it but let’s be real, it’s summer and I had some extra time on my hands. I’m hoping that it’s just as enjoyable and manageable when school starts in August. Best of luck! ‍‍

That's awesome! I started my masters this last year online through WGU. I am really enjoying it so far. It was harder than I thought to teach and go to school at the same time, but hoping to make up some lost ground this summer. I am getting my masters in Education, Learning, and Technology, sounds like it may be similar to yours! 🙂 My first set of courses were on instructional design and now I am into my tech classes. Best of luck to you!

What I read this week 🩷📖 It took me all wee What I read this week 🩷📖

It took me all week to read The Favorites by Layne Fargo, which usually means I’m not loving a book, but I’m thrilled that’s not the case with this book! It was just a super busy week for me so I didn’t read as much every day as I wanted, but I absolutely LOVED this book! It releases January 14, so mark your calendars now! I don’t even love figure skating/ ice dancing (honestly I’ve never even heard of this) and I still was obsessed with this book. Highly highly recommend!

Synopsis:

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.

Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines
