Weekly Favs Around the House

Beauty· Home Decor· lifestyle

I have found several fabulous products here lately, so I wanted to share them with y’all. I love reading about other people’s favorite products, don’t you? This edition will feature mostly household items and a few fashion/beauty.

Let’s start off with this shampoo and conditioner duo that I have fallen in love with. I try and only wash my hair twice a week because it’s so much better for your hair to skip the daily washes, but because of that, the dry shampoo build up is a real issue. This Neutrogena shampoo is a great clarifying shampoo that really gets your hair clean and feeling fresh. The conditioner is one of the best conditioners I’ve ever used. When I use this, I can smell the conditioner all day long and even the following day. Usually I only notice a lasting smell when I use an expensive shampoo from Lush. I highly recommend you try out this new line. I am loving it!

Next up is a must have for your laundry! One of my life’s missions is to find ways to make my laundry room smell amazing LOL. My grandmother’s laundry room always smells so fresh and clean and full of laundry detergent aroma. I have never been able to accomplish this, but I try! Since I’m always on the hunt for great smelling laundry products, I picked up this Downy Intense Fabric Softener when I was at the grocery store. I washed some of my workwear using it and then I hung the clothes up to dry on a clothing rack in a room upstairs (I don’t like to dry good clothes in the dryer, so I have set up a rack upstairs for clothes to dry on.) When I walked upstairs, I could immediately smell this fabric softener. Y’all, my clothes smelled incredible! I will be purchasing and using this one from now on. It is amazing!

This week’s weekly favorites should just be titled “Things That Smell Good.” LOL Now I know- a great, lasting smell isn’t the most important factor when buying a new hand sanitizer, but let me tell you, you will never use a hand sanitizer that smells like this. I am a huge fan of allll of the Sol de Janeiro products because they all smell incredible, but this hand sanitizer is my new favorite. Seriously, you will become obsessed with this. I immediately ordered two more once I started using this. Of all my favorites in this week’s post, this hand sanitizer is my most favorite.

Surprise! Another scent favorite! I used to believe only Scentsy wax melts actually worked. Then I discovered the Better Homes and Gardens ones from Wal Mart. Some of them are really good. I had never heard of this brand until I found these in the special seasonal section of Wal Mart where you first walk into the store. This scent is absolutely amazing. If you’re a fan of the Tyler Candle Company scents, you will love this ‘coastal sunset’ scent. It smells so warm and cozy and really lasts. I usually put it in the warmer in my little library/office and the smell engulfs the entire upstairs. It is heavenly. I love it!

For my fashion fav, it would have to be this fun sweatshirt from Etsy. After the week our country has had, we all need this reminder, right? Oh goodness y’all, what a week.

There you have it! That’s what I’ve been loving this past week. I’d love to hear if you’re a fan of any of these products or if you have any recommendations for me, send them my way! Happy weekend! 

What I read this week 🩷📖 It took me all wee What I read this week 🩷📖

It took me all week to read The Favorites by Layne Fargo, which usually means I’m not loving a book, but I’m thrilled that’s not the case with this book! It was just a super busy week for me so I didn’t read as much every day as I wanted, but I absolutely LOVED this book! It releases January 14, so mark your calendars now! I don’t even love figure skating/ ice dancing (honestly I’ve never even heard of this) and I still was obsessed with this book. Highly highly recommend!

Synopsis:

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.

Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines
