We all know kids should know their basic parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.) but sadly so many do not. Grammar often gets pushed to the back burner because so much focus is placed on reading-specifically comprehension and phonics. BUT being able to identify basic parts of speech is vital to both reading and writing. When students are starting to write independently, knowing the difference between nouns and verbs (and other parts of speech, of course) will help them write better and more complex sentences.
In order for students to be able to identify basic parts of speech, they need repeated, daily practice. I created Grammar Files specifically for this reason. By giving kids consistent practice, they will start to easily identify basic parts of speech. Click below for the March edition of this resource. You can also get the year long bundle here.

This resource works best for grades 3+. I have created a lower elementary version that is better suited for grades 1-2. You can find the March edition of the lower elementary version here and the year long lower elementary version here.
