During February, I read 7 books. Some I really loved and some-not so much. I didn’t have a lot of luck with romances, which was disappointing because y’all know how much I love a good swoonfest, but mystery/thrillers are really appealing to me right now. Here’s what I read and what I thought of each.
Never Saw Me Coming by Vera Kurian

I picked this one up because it is set on a college campus, and I love books with that setting. I LOVED this one so much! It’s about a group of college students who are psychopaths. They are enrolled in this special program, but they don’t know each other. One is murdered and then it is a cat chase to find the killer. The very last page of the book was my absolute favorite. The main character is so funny. Such a good read!
Catch Her When She Falls by Allison Buccola

Our mystery/thriller selection for LaLa Life Book Club this month was Catch Her When She Falls. This is about a girl who returns to her hometown years after her best friend is murdered in high school by her boyfriend. I loved this one until the ending and then I hated it. Well, hated is too strong a word. I really disliked the ending. I have a full review for this one here.
Good Girl Complex by Elle Kennedy

I was highly anticipating Good Girl Complex because I loved Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series. Oh my goodness, this was such a disappointment. I have a full review for it here, but lordy I really disliked this one. It’s about a college girl who is a self made millionaire but is forced to go to college by her parents. She meets a local bad boy and falls in love despite having a boyfriend. So many things annoyed me about this main character. I am looking forward to the second book in the series because it’s about the twin brother and he was the only character I actually liked in this one.
A Not So Meet Cute by Meghan Quinn

I discovered Meghan Quinn when I read The Highland Fling back in November and I loved it. I had been saving A Not So Meet Cute for February because the cover just screamed Valentines Day to me. I really enjoyed this one. It wasn’t as good as The Highland Fling, and I can’t really remember anything about it now (you know those books that are good, but never stick with you?) but I liked it and would recommend it! I’m really a fan of the author and can’t wait to read more by her. Super funny!
Naked Love by Jewel E. Ann

I have loved Jewel E. Ann’s books for the longest time, but Naked Love was a complete miss for me. It’s a road trip romance, which I loved, but the main male character was the worst. I didn’t find him swoony at all. The female main character was okay, but slightly annoying. I made it 250 pages before DNFing. I hardly ever do that at 250 pages in. I would skip this one. Even if you love road trip romances, this wasn’t one to put on your TBR.
Too Good To Be True by Carola Lovering

I’ve been having the best luck with mystery/thrillers this year. Too Good To Be True was SO GOOD! It’s about a girl who meets a man on vacation and falls in love with him. 6 months later they are engaged and then one year after they meet, they marry. Her friends all think it’s too soon, but she’s convinced it’s true love. Meanwhile, we are reading from the man’s POV through journal entries and we discover a whole other story. It is phenomenal. Highly recommend this one!
Made in Manhattan by Lauren Layne

I ended the month by reading our romance selection for LaLa Life Book Club. Lauren Layne is my favorite romance writer of all time and this one didn’t disappoint. I love how all of LL’s book are set in NYC and how atmospheric they are. This was a modern day retelling of My Fairy Lady. So good!
