All about the Scrubs

Beauty· lifestyle· Uncategorized

I have been on somewhat of a scrub kick lately, y’all. Since starting to use a body scrub, I’ve seen such a big difference in my skin! I’ve tried out three this summer and I thought I would review them and share my thoughts with y’all!
I talked about this one in my June favs. This c.Booth sea salt scrub is an amazing dupe for Lush’s Ocean Salt. The one by Lush cost $36, while this one is $7.19. I like it even better that Ocean Salt! It’s my favorite of all the body scrubs.

There are tons of grains that help exfoliate and get rid of dead skin. It is amazing! And it smells pretty good, too!

The Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub is also really good! The grains aren’t as big as the one by c.Booth, but it works just as well. This one lasts a little longer than the other too. It’s thicker than the Sea Salt, and takes a little more effort to rub over your skin. The passion fruit and guava smells delicious!

This polishing body scrub by Yes to Coconut was such a disappointment! There was hardly any exfoliating to it. It was more like a slimy, sloppy mess. And the smell wasn’t great either. I like a good coconut scent that reminds me of tanning oil and the beach, but this wasn’t like that. It was just an over all bad scrub.

Do y’all use body scrubs? I’d love to hear your favs! 🙂

I love reading your "empty tube" posts! I love salt/sugar scrubs! One of my favorites is by Arbonne, I think it's called "Awaken". I haven't used that in a while because I make my own now using coconut oil and lime or coconut and lemon! I love how they smell and how fantastic they work and that I can control what goes into it and how "soupy" it is! I have pinned so many new scrub recipes to Pinterest that I think I need to create a board just for scrubs!

I'm glad I didn't pick up the Yes!To Coconuts scrub, I seriously thought about it. I need to try the first scrub, I love sea salt!

What I read this week 🩷📖 It took me all wee What I read this week 🩷📖

It took me all week to read The Favorites by Layne Fargo, which usually means I’m not loving a book, but I’m thrilled that’s not the case with this book! It was just a super busy week for me so I didn’t read as much every day as I wanted, but I absolutely LOVED this book! It releases January 14, so mark your calendars now! I don’t even love figure skating/ ice dancing (honestly I’ve never even heard of this) and I still was obsessed with this book. Highly highly recommend!

Synopsis:

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.

Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines
