Hi friends! It may be August 1st right now, but I’m playing catch up this morning and going wayyy back to April to chat about the books I read that month. I read some really great stories back then and I wanted to share them with y’all today!
One of my top reads of the read. I was SHOCKED by how much I loved this book. It didn’t sound like something I would love at all-rock and roll bands in the 70’s…no thanks! But y’all, this book was beyond amazing. I couldn’t think about anything else while I was reading this story. I know a lot of people were put off with the interview style of writing, but I didn’t think it hindered the plot at all. It was SOOOO good!
My favorite thriller of the year so far. Oh my goodness, y’all. This book was SO unique and different from all the other thrillers out there. The last line was epic! My Lovely Wife will stay with you long after you finish it.
I was lucky enough to get an arc of KA Tucker’s newest book that comes out in August. KA Tucker is one of my favorite authors and this book was just wonderful. It’s about two people who meet at camp and fall in love and then reconnect years later when he starts working in her office building. Super sweet.
Y’all know I’ve gotten away from young adult in the past year, but I still always pick up the newest Jenn Bennett because she never disappoints. I didn’t LOVE this book, but it was okay. I totally blame how busy I was with moving and settling in when I read it, but I just didn’t connect to this one like I did her other ones. Alex Approximately is one of my all time favorite YA books!
Another book I totally blame on the stress of moving and unpacking because otherwise, this book would be one I completely fell in love with, but I just couldn’t get into it. I’m going to try again when things settle down and I can give the book my full attention. I’ve heard such great things about it and I know I will love it!
