Upper elementary teachers, do you cringe when your students can’t identify basic parts of speech like nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs? I know I did! This is such a simple skill that we all know has been taught in previous grades, but sometimes students still can’t do it. I created this spiral review to help solve this issue. By providing students with the same format of daily practice, they are able to more easily understand how to identify these different types of words.
Each monthly resource comes with 15 ready-to-print sheets, as well as answer keys. They are great for morning work, sub plans, or early finishers!
January topics include:
-Snow Day
-Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
-Snowball Fight
-New Year’s Eve Sleepover
-Winter Bonfire
-2nd Semester Classes
-Watching the Ball Drop
-100th Day of School
-Fireside Campout
-Dress Your Pet Day
-Power Outage
– Dog Walking
-Planning Our Summer Vacation
-Betsy Ross
-Ice Skating

I also have a lower elementary version that focuses on just nouns, verbs, and adjectives with fewer sentences. You can find it here.
I always recommend displaying posters for the basic parts of speech. These were some of my most referenced posters with my students. You can check them out here.
