Binge Worthy Netflix Shows

lifestyle· Uncategorized

Friends, I don’t want to sound ungrateful towards summer break, but our Alabama weather has been less than ideal. It’s been rainy/cloudy for pretty much the last two weeks. Y’all know… the type of depressing, dreary weather. It’s just awful! All I want to do is lay out and soak up the sun, but sadly that just isn’t happening yet. All this weather is good for is laying around reading and watching Netflix. Since I already have multiple posts about books, I decided to share some of my favorite TV shows/mini series with y’all in case y’all are having the same depressing weather, too! I’d love to hear your favorite shows!
Gilmore Girls
If you’ve followed me on Instagram for awhile, you may remember that last summer I became obsessed with Gilmore Girls. Oh man, what a show! There are SO MANY good characters and Stars Hollow might be my favorite fictional setting of all time. I could kick myself for not watching this one sooner. And I dare you not to fall in love with Logan Huntzberger. I don’t even want to hear about Dean or Jess. Team Logan all the way!
Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl is one of my all time favorites. I love all the fashion that comes with the show. Seasons 1 and 2 are by far the best. And yes, the show does go downhill in the later seasons, but it’s still a great show to binge watch! I adore Blair and Chuck.
Scandal
Scandal is SUCH an addicting show! I’m behind two seasons, so I’ll definitely be using this summer to catch up. I binge watched seasons 1-4 several years ago and then started watching in real time on Thursday nights. Olivia Pope is such a strong female character and I’ve even grown to love Millie even though I use to hate her! There’s a love triangle in this one between Olivia, Jake, and President Fitz and I’m team Fitz all the way! I cannot stand Jake. At all.
How to Get Away with Murder
This show! If there was an award for most binge worthy, this show would win! You cannot stop watching this one. Every time an episode would end, I would find myself saying “Just one more and then I’ll get up and do something.” Sooooo addicting!
The Office
The Office is my favorite show of all time. I LOVE it! There are so many funny parts and quotes to take away from this show.
“That’s what she said”
“I don’t want people to be afraid of me. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.”
“Bears. Beets, Battlestar Galactica”
“Did I stutter?”
“Dwight. You Ignorant Slut!”
“I’m not superstitious. I’m a little-stitious”
“Soupsnakes”
and my favorite…
“Sometimes I’ll start a sentence and I don’t even know where it’s going. I just hope I find it along the way”
Michael Scott is one of my favorite fictional characters ever. This is a show you can just have playing in the background while you work, clean, etc. It is the best! Be sure and check out the bloopers on youtube after you watch each season. They are almost as funny as the actual show!
Riverdale
Riverdale is a new show I’ve been watching and I am obsessed! It’s based off the Archie comics, so it has all the characters from that comic strip: Betty, Veronica, Archie, Jughead, etc. I’ve never read any of the comics, so I didn’t think I’d like the show, but I was wrong. It is so good!
Glee
Glee is another favorite of mine! Seasons 1 and 2 are definitely the best. Season 3 is the characters’ senior year and it’s okay and then seasons 4,5,6 are just awful. I love musicals so this show is right up my alley! Once they separate the characters though, the storylines aren’t as strong and it’s just not the same. And then Corey Monteith passed away and the show just never recovered. The early seasons are still classic though!
Stranger Things
This show was one I never thought I would get into. Sci fi is NOT my thing, but then I kept hearing people talk about the show and I decided to see what all the fuss was about. I totally get it now. This show is fabulous! I cannot wait for season two to come out in October.
13 Reasons Why
Oh man, this show is addicting, but painful to watch. I read the book by Jay Asher years ago when it first came out and I remember loving it. I was anxious to watch the Netflix series and it did not disappoint. There are so many tough scenes to watch, but it is still such a good show! Season 2 is already confirmed and I cannot wait.
Making A Murderer
True crime fans, this show is for you! My mom and I watched this one back during Christmas and I think we finished the entire miniseries in a day. This show will leave you so conflicted. One episode I was convinced that he really did it and the next I was convinced that the cops planted evidence to frame him. So good!
Lost
I binged watched this show several summers ago and it’s remained a favorite ever since. It’s a strange show and definitely one you have to pay attention to or you’ll be lost and I still don’t understand the ending, but it’s addicting!
Crazy Ex Girlfriend
Okay, this one is a silly show, but I loved season 1! I tried watching season 2 in real time, but it wasn’t as good so I stopped watching but the first season is great! It’s another musical, but with original songs that are so catchy! I loved it!
Okay, so those are my favorite binge worthy tv shows! I’d love to hear y’alls!

I would recommend Jane the Virgin. I've been binge watching season 2 these past few weeks and love it.

I'm thinking of watching the Netflix original, Love next.

I'll have to check out some of your recommendations!

What I read this week 🩷📖 It took me all wee What I read this week 🩷📖

It took me all week to read The Favorites by Layne Fargo, which usually means I’m not loving a book, but I’m thrilled that’s not the case with this book! It was just a super busy week for me so I didn’t read as much every day as I wanted, but I absolutely LOVED this book! It releases January 14, so mark your calendars now! I don’t even love figure skating/ ice dancing (honestly I’ve never even heard of this) and I still was obsessed with this book. Highly highly recommend!

Synopsis:

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.

Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines
