Today was my first day back and whew! It’s 7:30 and I’m just now sitting down to answer emails and reply to comments. One of my big summer goals this year was to blog more often and I accomplished that towards the end…see!
Out of 31 days in July, I posted on 26 of them. I have never come close to that! I know this probably isn’t interesting to y’all, but I’m proud of this small accomplishment because it made me fall back in love with blogging!
Finding the time and energy and motivation to come home after working all day and sitting down to blog is hard and I don’t want to neglect this space just because school is back in session. So I’m extending my goal by making an effort to write thoughtful, helpful, and useful posts. Here’s some of the series that I’ll be posting:
Finding the time and energy and motivation to come home after working all day and sitting down to blog is hard and I don’t want to neglect this space just because school is back in session. So I’m extending my goal by making an effort to write thoughtful, helpful, and useful posts. Here’s some of the series that I’ll be posting:
-Book Talks: sharing books that your students (and you!) need to read
– Plan with Me: visual plans on Sunday for each week
-Life Lately: a post filled with random things that have happened during the week
And I’ll also be posting about fun activities that we do in class. I want to hear from y’all though! If there’s anything you want to see on the blog, leave a comment or email me! I’d love to hear your thoughts on how I can make this space better. Blogging has become a huge hobby for me, but more than that, it helps me be a better teacher as I reflect back on how I have taught certain things or managed certain areas in my classroom.
Happy Thursday! 🙂

I love that you've been blogging more. Your blog is the only one I read religiously! One thing I would like to see a post about ways you communicate with parents. I've used Remind the last few years and love it. However, I've gone back and forth with creating an Edmodo or Facebook group or even a blog for parents. Our school website is not very user friendly or I would use it.

Congrats on posting 26 times! That's awesome! Blogging builds personal momentum and you have achieved it. I would love to hear what type of weekly writing you do in your classroom. I am looking for ideas as a new 5th grade teacher this year.
