Empties July ’15

Beauty· lifestyle· Uncategorized

Let me start off by saying I did not use all these products in one month! I’ve just been collecting products since I blogged about my last empties, so this is more like 2 and 1/2 months of products! I didn’t realize how much I used up until I started taking pictures. 🙂

The brand smells exactly like Soap and Glory! I mean exactly! It’s a UK brand, but I always find it at TJ Maxx.

I’m always so happy to finish a BBW lotion because I tend to buy way too many and leave them sitting in my cabinets. I feel accomplished when I finish one haha!

The Olay Advanced Ribbons body wash is one of my absolute favorites. It’s such a creamy, rich lather and fills your bathroom with the most delicious aroma. I love, love, love this one!

I love to use a coconut oil/honey hair mask, but they are messy! I found this little sample at Walgreens and decided to try it for the week instead. (I typically only do a deep hair mask once a week). It smells great and made my hair super soft. I didn’t fix my hair afterwards, so I don’t know if it would have made it flat or not, but overall I was pleased with this.

This is one of my favorite summer scents. I first used a tube of this when I watched Lost on Netflix, so the smell always reminds me of that. 🙂

Soaps are soaps, so I just go off of the smell and Endless Weekend from BBW is fabulous. Plus, the font on the packaging is gorgeous!

I’ve become obsessed with body scrubs recently and plan on doing a separate post about my favorites. I did love this one from Soap and Glory, but now I’ve found several (like this one and this one) that I prefer over The Scrub of Your Life (and are cheaper!)

I don’t know where the picture for the shampoo one went, but I used both up and LOVE them! I always saw this on Pinterest and thought it was actually horse shampoo (#blondemoment). When I found it Walgreens, I decided to try it and it is now my favorite shampoo/conditioner combo.

This little product is actually found in the baby section over Target, but after seeing Ingrid use it I decided to test it out. I used it as a foot cream at night. It worked great, but I think Vaseline would be the same thing.

I have to be careful about conditioners because most weigh my hair down. Clear is always a good one for my hair. I always find myself going back to this one.

I LOVE the way Dove products smell, but their shampoos and conditioners just don’t like my hair. I thought their new Oxygen Moisture might be different, but sadly it wasn’t.

I really want to try some new make up remover wipes, but my skin is really picky about them! These are the only ones that I’ve  found that don’t break me out. If you haven’t any suggestions for ones I should try, let me know!

I mentioned this one in my favorites post, but this is the most amazing little product. I’ll talk more about it in my body scrub post, but it is an amazing dupe for Lush’s Ocean Salt.

After running out of the C. Booth scrub, I tried this one and love it almost as much!

Sometimes I get in a mood where I want to use a shaving cream instead of just body wash. I tend to always go with this shaving cream, but I’m looking to try a new one. Anyone got a favorite?

I bought this back in March, along with the self tanner that went with it. I haven’t used all of the self tanner, but let me tell you: I HATE this product! It was more slimy than exfoliating. And it had a terrible scent. I was just all around disappointed with this one.

I love the diamond powder scent of the Nivea body washes. It isn’t the most moisturizing, but it’s a great scent!
That’s all the products I’ve used up in the few months. Have you tried any of these products? I’d love to hear about your thoughts on them! Thanks for reading! 🙂 🙂

I am totally with you on the Dove shampoo! My hair is so limp and lifeless after I use it. Also, I'm laughing that even though you hated a product, the bottle is still empty! That's commitment, I usually toss what I don't like haha! For example, I bought that Honest Company healing balm for my son and pitched it after one use. Maybe I didn't know what to expect from a balm (I've never really bought one before?) but the consistency seemed gross and greasy and the smell was terrible too.

What I read this week 🩷📖 It took me all wee What I read this week 🩷📖

It took me all week to read The Favorites by Layne Fargo, which usually means I’m not loving a book, but I’m thrilled that’s not the case with this book! It was just a super busy week for me so I didn’t read as much every day as I wanted, but I absolutely LOVED this book! It releases January 14, so mark your calendars now! I don’t even love figure skating/ ice dancing (honestly I’ve never even heard of this) and I still was obsessed with this book. Highly highly recommend!

Synopsis:

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.

Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines
