Friday Favorites

Beauty· Books· Home Decor· lifestyle· Uncategorized

It’s Friday y’all! Whoo Hoo!!!!! One more week and then it’s SUMMER! I have so many favorites to share with y’all today so let’s jump right in!

Isn’t Ellen just the best person on the planet?? I loved watching highlights from her show’s current season. Reese Witherspoon was on this week and looked adorable in Draper James! If you missed her episode, you can find it here.

Since we are on the topic of talk shows, I love subscribing to all the late night shows and catching up on them in the afternoon when I get home from work. Goodness knows I can’t stay up late and watch them when they actually come on! #teacherlife.
Harry Styles has been on James Corden’s show this week and I just loved this sketch they did! Anyone else still obsessed with Sign of the Times?? I sure am!
I love finding new hair products that actually work and let me tell y’all…these do! Let’s talk about the left product first. This oil is suppose to smooth and combat dry hair. I tried this product after reading another blogger’s post about how it has helped her hair grow. I don’t know if it can actually do that, but something has definitely helped my hair grow after being cut in a short bob last summer. I feel like this product helps make my hair feel healthier as well. It’s kinda expensive, but I’ve been using the same bottle for about 5 months so it’s very long lasting! I will definitely be repurchasing.
The product on the right is one that I discovered in a magazine and I found it at Target (I’ve also seen it at CVS). I love trying out new heat protectants. I had been using the Kenra Blow Dry Serum, but my Ulta stopped carrying it and switched to the spray. It’s the same product, but I don’t like the sprary form so I switched to Drybar’s Hot Toddy. I liked it okay, but I didn’t love it. I picked this one up without very high hopes because L’Oreal isn’t the best for hair products for my hair. I have noticed a huge change in my hair texture after drying my hair with this on it. I just put a little on damp hair before I dry it. The weather right now is humid and my hair is in desperate need of a blonde appointment, so it isn’t doing the best job right now but I really do love this product!
Okay, this is random, but I ordered these under cabinet lights from Amazon about 3 weeks ago and I just LOVE them! I have a small kitchen in my house and it has very little light at night besides the overhead light, which I hate to leave on. I thought these under cabinet lights would cozy the space up and it did! They are really easy to use too! It comes with stickies like a command strip and you just peel and stick. They hold really well too and are battery operated. I love!

How cute are these shoes?? I love a good Old Navy find!

My Ulta never carries Drybar, so when I walked into the store and saw this special display I was so happy and knew it would be a Friday favorite! I LOVE the Triple Sec texturizing spray and the flat iron and hairdryer are simply the best. I bought a can of their dry shampoo because y’all have been telling me how great it is. I can’t wait to try it out!

I shared this Charming Charlies necklace on Instagram last week and I’m just loving it! It’s sold out online, but I’ll keep checking and update y’all if it becomes available again. Such fun colors for summer! Have y’all been to their website lately? OH MY GOODNESS I want it all!!!!!

I am so happy with how my DIY spray painted bistro set turned out! It’s a definite weekly favorite! You can see more pictures of this and my screened in back porch here. It’s a work in progress!

Need a summer book to sink your teeth into at the beach? I’m sharing one of my favorite trilogies in this post from yesterday.
Friends, I found Draper James at TJ Maxx this week. I was so surprised to find this brand. Have y’all ever seen it there?? I reeeeeeally want to get this lemon print shoulder bag, but I didn’t love it $60 worth. Hoping it’s still there and clearanced next time!
That’s what I’ve been loving this week. I’m sure next week will be filled with favorites since it’s the LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL! Summer is almost here! 🙂 🙂
Happy weekend, y’all!

What I read this week 🩷📖 It took me all wee What I read this week 🩷📖

It took me all week to read The Favorites by Layne Fargo, which usually means I’m not loving a book, but I’m thrilled that’s not the case with this book! It was just a super busy week for me so I didn’t read as much every day as I wanted, but I absolutely LOVED this book! It releases January 14, so mark your calendars now! I don’t even love figure skating/ ice dancing (honestly I’ve never even heard of this) and I still was obsessed with this book. Highly highly recommend!

Synopsis:

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.

Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines
