Sharing my book review for The Wishing Game in my stories tonight. I have been looking forward to reading this one for the longest time, and it was sadly a miss for me. 2 ⭐️ 😭😭😭 If you read this one and loved it I’m *so* glad! I always hate to share my negative reading experiences, but they’re inevitable sometimes. 😔 I will say, I read The Lost Story (the author’s newest release) before reading The Wishing Game, and I loved that one!

Start a new book with me | reading slump edition 📖🩷

One of my go to tricks when I feel a reading slump coming on is to turn to my favs and do a little reread! I first read You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle in 2020, and I absolutely loved it. I started it again yesterday afternoon because I wanted a romance that I could really get into, and I’m almost finished with it. It’s such a cute enemies to lovers story that reads like an episode of The Office featuring the best of Jim and Dwight’s pranks. It’s so swoony, too! I looooove this book!

Do you reread books? I used to think I would never read a book for a second time, but now I love revisiting favorites!

Have y’all picked up the newest Reese’s Book C

Have y’all picked up the newest Reese’s Book Club pick? Society of Lies has been my most anticipated thriller of the year since I first learned about it back in January. I’m about halfway thru and I’m not really sure about it. There are parts that I love and then parts that kinda feel off. I’m hoping it gets better though!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this book if you’ve read it. I feel like I’m in a little bit of a reading slump so I don’t really know if that’s affecting my love for the book or not. *sigh*

If you had told me around p. 50 that I would end up absolutely obsessed with this book, I never would have believed you. I was *so close* to DNFing The Secret History by Donna Tarrt. It was so boring and not at all what I thought it was going to be, but I kept reading because the book has literally been on my TBR since high school. I didn’t want to finally have started reading the book only to DNF it. I am so glad I stuck with it.

This book sounds like it would be your typical thriller and in many ways it was, yet it was also so much more. The 6 main characters are so interesting and even though I finished the book days ago, I have thought about them repeatedly. And the ending! Oh my goodness the ending! Reading The Secret History will be a highlight for me when it comes to my reading year. I absolutely loved it.

Have you read this classic? Is it on your TBR? I know it won’t be for everyone, and I think you really have to push through the sluggish beginning to really become invested in the story, but I highly recommend! Especially if you love literary fiction or character driven stories.

100% recommend the audiobook. The author herself narrates it and is brilliant! Thanks for the free listen, @prhaudio
