It’s time for July’s book review! July was a busy month, so there wasn’t a lot of time for reading unfortunately! I did get to some of the ones that had been on my to read list for awhile. 🙂
Room by Emma Donoghue
I’ve talked about this one before, but wow! It’s a strange book. It’s not bad, but I didn’t LOVE it either. It’s just strange. The entire thing is written from the 5 year old’s perspective and I just felt that by doing that, it limited the plot. For example, I would have loved to read from the mother’s point of view or even Old Nick’s (the person who kidnaps “Ma” when she’s 19)
From This Moment by Lauren Barnholdt
This one was the last in the Moment of Truth series. It’s a young adult book, and while I realize I am well past my teenage years, I love anything Lauren Barnholdt writes. This wasn’t my favorite by this author, but I enjoyed all three books. It was a good, light summer read.
Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave
My favorite of the month! I ordered this after seeing it on several summer must read lists. It’s been sitting on my shelf since late May and I finally picked it up last week. I love, love, love this book! A girl returns home a week before her wedding after learning something new (and shocking!) about her fiance.
The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty
**Don’t mind my neighbor’s sweet dog. She wanted to get in the picture too!
I immediately picked this one up after reading The Husband’s Secret, Big Little Lies, and What Alice Forgot. I liked this one, but it didn’t hold a candle to the other ones by this author and I was kinda disappointed. Now I’m not sure about reading The Last Anniversary. Have y’all read it? Should I try it?
That was July’s reads! What have you been reading? I’d love to hear!

The Last Anniversary was probably my least favorite Liane Moriarity book. Three Wishes is pretty good, but of course, nothing holds a candle to The Husband's Secret and Big Little Lies. 🙂
