Lipstick Loves

Beauty· lifestyle· Uncategorized

In honor of National Lipstick Day, I wanted to share my favorites. Out of all makeup products, lipsticks are definitely my favorite. In fact, I’m a little obsessed with buying them. They’re all just so pretty! Here are my absolute favorites, including my go to liner+color combo!
L to R: Maybelline Matte in Ravishing Rose; Mac’s Up the Amp; Bare Minerals Pop of Passion in Candy Pop; Mac’s Saint Germain; Maybelline Power Peony

Bare Minerals Pop of Passion in Candy Pop
This was the first product I’ve ever tried from Bare Minerals and I’m sold! This is a great lipstick for applying on the go throughout the day. I keep it in my purse and apply after lunch. It’s got a creamy formula but isn’t sheer, which I love!

Maybelline in Power Peony.
I’ve already talked about how much I love this collection in this post. Power Peony is my favorite out of all of them. Maybelline is my go to drugstore lip color!

Mac’s Up the Amp
It looks a little scary in pictures, but this is a great shade for the fall. In fact, it’s my favorite shade of plum. And nothing beats Mac’s formula. They are my absolute favorite lipsticks.

Mac’s Saint Germain
I love light pink lipsticks even though they don’t like me. I have to be very careful about not looking washed out when I wear a light pink. This one is my favorite shade of pale pink. It photographs darker than it wears.

Too Faced Lip Injection Color Burst in Candy Burst
This is the lipstick I reach for when I don’t have a full face on and I just want a little something on my lips. I could do without the stinging though! I don’t really see that my lips appear fuller when I wear this, but I don’t use it for that so I’m good with it! 🙂
Mac’s Pink Nouveau
I can’t tell you how many of these I’ve purchased. This will forever be my all time favorite lip color, hands down. I love, love, love this one! It’s the perfect shade of pink and the best formula. I’m scraping the rest out of this one while I wait on a new one to arrive. Love!

Now these YSL lipsticks are in a league of their own. While most of the time I prefer the formula of Mac as opposed to these, when I do want a creamier, shiner finish nothing can beat YSL. I do not like the silver tubes, just the gold ones. I’m not sure the difference in the formula, but those are sheer and I’m not a fan of sheer lipsticks (especially ones as expensive as these!) And can we just talk about the packaging? Beyond gorgeous! The pricing is a bit too much, so I usually request a new shade for birthdays or Christmas. I currently own four and have them sitting prettily on my dresser. 🙂

This is my favorite. It’s in the shade 8. It photographs darker than it is in real life. It’s a pretty rose pink in person.

I knew if I were investing in these then I wanted a good red shade. This shade is 11. Red is a hard lipstick color to find for me. I’m not a huge fan of it because red is not my color, but when I do wear it I only wear this kind!

This one is very similar to Mac’s Saint Germain. They are both a light pale pink, but the Mac formula is matte and this one is creamier. This shade is 7.

I got this peach one for Christmas last year. It’s shade 13. Again, it photographs darker than in real life. In real life it’s a pretty peachy almost nude color. Love!

This is my go to lip combo! I love a good lip liner and Mac has the best! The liner is in the shade “shock value” and I pair it with Maybelline’s Ravishing Rose. The two pair extremely well together and I love them!

I know this is face primer, but I like using it as a lip primer! I got a sample size from a gift size during Christmas and it helps my lipstick go on a lot smoother.
What’s your favorite lipstick? I’d love to hear them!

Oh my goodness, I need to invest in Up The Amp before Fall gets here! & I think my personal favorite lip product is the Rimmell London lipsticks-specifically the one in As You Wish Victoria!

What I read this week 🩷📖 It took me all wee What I read this week 🩷📖

It took me all week to read The Favorites by Layne Fargo, which usually means I’m not loving a book, but I’m thrilled that’s not the case with this book! It was just a super busy week for me so I didn’t read as much every day as I wanted, but I absolutely LOVED this book! It releases January 14, so mark your calendars now! I don’t even love figure skating/ ice dancing (honestly I’ve never even heard of this) and I still was obsessed with this book. Highly highly recommend!

Synopsis:

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.

Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines
