Y’all, I am almost ashamed to publish my May reading recap because I had such a sorry reading month. May and August are hands down my busiest months because of teaching and reading suffered because of school! Majorly suffered. I reread two books and only read two new books. 4 books, y’all! Really only 2 since the first ones were rereads. Definitely not the best month. June is already looking better, though! I can’t wait to share with y’all what all I’ve read in June because I’m currently writing this on June 4th and I’ve already read 2 fabulous books!
Okay, let’s get on with my May reading recap!
The first three books were all part of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy by Jenny Han. I reread the first two before reading the newest and final book in the series. I did an entire post on this series here if you want to hear about them. Spoiler Alert: it’s one of my favorite series of all time and the last book did NOT disappoint!
And then the only other book I read this month was Fireworks by Kate Cotugno. This one was about two friends in the 90’s who move to Orlando to be a part of a girl band. They all live in an apartment complex with members of a boy band. I originally gave it a 4 out of 5 stars, but then I changed it to a 3 out of 5. It was just okay. I didn’t really connect with any of the characters and the ending was sort of open ended. I much preferred the author’s other book 99 Days to this one.
Well, that was short and sweet, right?? Oh well, some months are just crazy busy while others seem to have all the time in the world. Happy summer reading, y’all!
