Hey y’all! You may know me from my first teaching blog, Life in First Grade. Since I’m changing from first grade to fifth grade, I thought it only fitting to start a brand new blog, devoted entirely to upper elementary ideas. I am so excited about teaching fifth grade and I can’t wait to share ideas with all of y’all. Since summer has just begun for me, I haven’t gotten started on designing my classroom, but I did have my painter come and paint the room. Here are the before and after pictures. I’m in love!
I love the yellow paint color! I am jealous that you are allowed to paint your classroom, once ours are painted they stay that way until the walls come crumbling down. 🙂

Thanks Casey! My principal laughed when I asked him about painting. He said "I knew that question was coming!" I do love some color!!! 🙂
OH MY! I absolutely love the yellow! So bright and fun. Cannot wait to see how the blog develops as well as your classroom! 🙂

So, so pretty Leslie!!! Welcome to grade 5! 🙂
Thank you Kristen! I'm already addicted to your site! 🙂
Quick question…how did you get Google friend connect (followers) on your dot com site? I've been trying to add that part to my new blog (not on blogger) and I can't figure it out!! 🙁

You have to go into the layout section and click "add a gadget"….and then I think it's on the second page or the more page…I can't remember. If you still have trouble finding it, let me know and I'll see if I can look it up for you 🙂 I had to hunt for it though!
Yay! I'm moving from 1st to 5th next year too. I've loved your blog this year and I'm looking forward to the new blog.
Aw man. I'm sooo bummed. I loved following your blog. I'm staying in first grade…no thanks for 5th grade!!
Oh wow! What a big change…first to fifth! I can't imagine! Those kids are bigger than me! I follow your first grade blog. I'm now following your new blog so I can read about how it goes! Good luck! 🙂
