October Favorites

Beauty· Uncategorized

Happy November 1st, y’all! I cannot believe that it is already November. Here in Alabama it still feels like the middle of summer, so I’m not quite ready to break out the the snowmen and Christmas tree just yet, but I’m eagerly awaiting cooler, winter like weather!
Today I’m sharing my favorite beauty products that I discovered/used during the month of October.
First off, let’s talk about that scarf in the above picture. I have been dying for a Burberry scarf for such a long time, but that price tag is a tough pill to swallow! I found this one at TJ MAXX and it looks almost identical.

This overnight hair serum from Pantene is hands down the most amazing thing I’ve ever smelled. I haven’t really noticed a difference in my hair, but I haven’t been using it very long either. But it makes my hair and pillowcase smell wonderful so it can’t hurt! 🙂

I’ve tried pretty much every gel nail polish out there and the new Essie ones are the best! They are kind of expensive, but so worth it! The white coat makes your nails so shiny and it lasts a long time, too!

Now, I don’t know how these Target makeup wipes are on your face, but as a makeup remover on your hands, they are wonderful! I was looking for a cheap package of wipes to keep in my makeup drawer so I can wipe off foundation from my hand as I apply makeup in the morning. These are the best I’ve ever used and they smell wonderful!

This Becca blush photographs a lot darker than it really is, so don’t let that fool you. I’ve been loving Becca blushes here lately and my go to color has been ‘foxglove’.

I shared my favorite skin care products on Instagram a few weeks ago and showed the Simple Micellar water that I had been loving. Someone messaged me about the Garnier version. I don’t really love Garnier products, but I decided to give this one a try and I’m SO GLAD I did! This does such a good job at removing makeup before cleansing the face.

Aren’t peel off masks so fun? I love trying new face masks and I decided to try out the Formula 10.0.6 Get Your Glow On brightening mask. I had heard absolutely nothing about it and just picked it up on a whim. I ended up loving this one! It smells great and leaves your skin feeling so soft!  And at $6.99, you can’t beat the price!

Looking for a product that helps cut your hair drying time in half? I have become addicted to the Kenra Blow Dry Serum. Love, love, love!

I have to put something on my lips before I go to sleep and I’ve been loving this Ultra Repair Intensive Lip Balm from First Aid Beauty. Now, this is a SUPER thick balm, so if that’s not your thing you probably won’t like this one, but I love it! My lips still feel moisturized when I wake up in the morning.

This is completely random, but my mom found these Smith and Vandiver foot fizzies at the grocery store back in the spring. I never used them until this month when I started giving myself nightly pedicures. These smell like Bath and Body Works Sheer Fressia from back in the day.  Love!

I was in desperate need of a good moisturizer that wasn’t greasy. I’ve been loving the Johnson’s baby creamy oil. It smells just like summer and makes me a little sad every night when I apply it. #teacherproblems.

My go to lip is a rosey pink and I’ve been obsessed with this combo. The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On lip pencil in ‘turn on’ and the Buxom full on lipstick in ‘Las Vegas’
That’s what I’ve been loving during the month of October! I’d love to hear your favorites!

What I read this week 🩷📖 It took me all wee What I read this week 🩷📖

It took me all week to read The Favorites by Layne Fargo, which usually means I’m not loving a book, but I’m thrilled that’s not the case with this book! It was just a super busy week for me so I didn’t read as much every day as I wanted, but I absolutely LOVED this book! It releases January 14, so mark your calendars now! I don’t even love figure skating/ ice dancing (honestly I’ve never even heard of this) and I still was obsessed with this book. Highly highly recommend!

Synopsis:

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.

Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines
