Teacher Fashion: Back to School

Classroom· Fashion· lifestyle

It’s back to work, teacher friends! I’ve made it a goal to get better about

1)what I wear to work because I’ve been slacking in the fashion department

and

2) actually documenting/sharing my fashion

At the beginning of last school year, I started a series on my Youtube channel where I shared my weekly fashion, but y’all know I struggle with finding the time to actually film and edit a video, so for right now, I’m just going to share through pictures and blog posts. Maybe if I can keep this up I can start back with the videos! Fingers crossed. šŸ™‚ I’ve been sharing my daily OOTDs on my life+style instagram if you want to follow along there OR you can follow me on LIKEtoKNOW.it

Here’s what I wore my first week back to school.

Monday

sweatshirt, shoes, jeans (LOFT, old)

Monday was an inservice day, so students didn’t come back until the next day. I wanted to wear something comfy this day because I had a lot to catch up on after being out two weeks at the beginning of December and then having Christmas break. Also, note the jeans. Normally we can’t wear jeans to work šŸ™

Tuesday

dress, boots

The kids return! We’ve been face to face since August. I know virtual is difficult, but traditional is so challenging right now, too. I cannot wait for the day when we don’t have to wear masks all day-whenever that might be. Don’t get me wrong-I fully understand the importance of the masks, and I am in full support of it, but man, are they not the most uncomfortable thing ever. Not to mention how we have to sit the kids in certain places and we can’t work together or collaborate on activities anymore. There’s so much I miss.

On a fashion note, I bought this dress last year and I meant to return it because it’s a size too big, but then I waited too late. I decided to try and wear it this week. It would fit better if it was a size smaller, but it still worked.

Wednesday

sweater, pants, shoes

This was my favorite outfit of the week. I discovered LOFT sweaters recently, and I am in love. They are such a great fit. They don’t stretch out of shape and they come in a ton of fun colors and prints. This one isn’t available anymore, but there are so many cute ones-especially heart ones for valentines day!

The pants are recent and a great work piece! Comfy and very versatile!

Thursday

cardigan, sweater, jeans, shoes

After watching the news allllll Wednesday afternoon and just feeling absolutely disgusted, I decided to break out all the colors for Thursday’s outfit because I just needed to feel happy. Life is better in color, right?? šŸ™‚

Friday

sweatshirt, leggings, shoes

Back in March last year, when quarantine first happened, I ordered an Aerie sweatshirt and discovered how amazing they are. Since then I think I’ve ordered 6 more. They are, hands down, the best sweatshirts. I cannot say enough about how much I love these. They fit great. Order one. You will love. And then you’ll order 5 more LOL

Hope everyone had a good week! šŸ™‚

What I read this week šŸ©·šŸ“– It took me all wee What I read this week šŸ©·šŸ“–

It took me all week to read The Favorites by Layne Fargo, which usually means I’m not loving a book, but I’m thrilled that’s not the case with this book! It was just a super busy week for me so I didn’t read as much every day as I wanted, but I absolutely LOVED this book! It releases January 14, so mark your calendars now! I don’t even love figure skating/ ice dancing (honestly I’ve never even heard of this) and I still was obsessed with this book. Highly highly recommend!

Thanks for my early review copy, @atrandombooks

Synopsis:

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.

Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the ā€œreal storyā€ through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines
