The Friday Five: Favorite Romance Series

Books

Happy Friday! Today’s Friday Five is all about my favorite romance series. To me, there’s nothing better than finding a series that features multiple books so we can continue to live in that world and see those characters. I’m sharing 5 of my favorite (although there are so many I love, so let me know if you want to see another post on this topic!)

The Bromance series was one I had been seeing all over the place, but it didn’t sound like something I would like, so I kept putting it off. I don’t remember what made me eventually pick it up and start reading it, but I’m so glad I did because I quickly fell in love with it! Typically a romance series will have books that feature different female characters, but this one revolves around male leads. It’s about a group of guys who join a bookclub in order to better understand women. This series is so good! The third book, Crazy Stupid Bromance, comes out October 27th and it’s so good! My favorite would have to be the second book. I LOVE the male lead in that one! This one is R rated. If that isn’t your thing, I highly recommend skipping over those parts because the romance is just so good!

Y’all know Lauren Layne is my favorite romance author, and her Central Park Pact series is not one to be missed. This series is about three women who meet at the funeral of their husband/boyfriend…who is the same man! They don’t know the others existed, but they decide to come together to get their lives back on track. My favorite of this series is the third. It’s about an instagram influencer who realizes she actually does have feelings for her best friend…which everyone already knew except them! Super sweet series. Not R rated

Tessa Bailey’s series first drew me in because of the gorgeous cover of the first book. I’m a sucker for a good home renovation romance story. This series is about a family who owns a home construction business. The first book involves a baseball player returning to his hometown and falling in love with his best friend’s little sister. The second one involves a guy trying to win back his wife. And the third book is about a new guy from Texas coming to work for the business and falling in hate love. This series is R rated (especially book 1), so be warned! But again, the romance is so good, so I recommend skipping over the r rated parts in order to still enjoy the sweet and swoon-worthy parts.

If you’ve followed me for awhile, you’ll remember that On the Corner of Love and Hate was my favorite book of 2019. This whole series is delightful! It’s about a group of friends in a small town. The first book is about a guy running for mayor of the small town. He employs his lifelong friend/enemy to help him get elected and they fall in love. SOOOO cute! The other two are sweet reads too. I LOVE the small fictional town in this series.

Okay, this last series is a bit different from the rest because 1) I read it probably 10 years ago and don’t really remember anything about it and 2) it’s YA (young adult.) BUT it is SUCH a good series! It’s about a girl who, if I’m remembering correctly, moves to Paris from the US to go to school. She falls in love with a mysterious boy. The other two feature characters that are friends with the two main characters from the first book. Writing this post has made me want to reread this series so bad! I remember just loving this one so much!

Okay, so there you have it! 5 of my favorite romance series. Have you read any of these? I’d love to hear your favorite romance series. I’m always on the lookout!

What I read this week 🩷📖 It took me all wee What I read this week 🩷📖

It took me all week to read The Favorites by Layne Fargo, which usually means I’m not loving a book, but I’m thrilled that’s not the case with this book! It was just a super busy week for me so I didn’t read as much every day as I wanted, but I absolutely LOVED this book! It releases January 14, so mark your calendars now! I don’t even love figure skating/ ice dancing (honestly I’ve never even heard of this) and I still was obsessed with this book. Highly highly recommend!

Synopsis:

She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.

Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.

As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public obsession with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines
